Rare Gem Heart Kandi is the knock-out daughter, a beautiful brown female with excellent fleece density and a fleece exhibiting a beautiful crimp. She is a phenotypically lovely female. She demonstrates extensive and unique black/blueberry spotting on her underside and legs, representing her appaloosa presence. Until recently, we noticed her blanket now shows brindle which is so exciting and indicates that she is becoming a very special and unique harlequin! She is rare, distinctive, and exciting to watch grow into a gorgeous foundation female alpaca.
Heart Kandi has an excellent pedigree; her sire is the ever-popular Vintage Cashmere U-taupe-ia. Taupie is a striking appaloosa harlequin producing male whose heritage boasts appaloosa genetics on both sides of his lineage, with Aussie Rockford out of Hannahruh on his sire's side and Chiquita Import on his dam's side.
Another coveted daughter of an incredible black female, Hvla Poppy, Bisturi's Periwinkle has a beautiful dark rose grey fleece and Vicuña patterning coupled with an outstanding phenotype. Her fiber has an excellent crimp. She is a great foundation dam and a stellar breeder…never has a problem getting pregnant, holds her pregnancies, delivers large 20lb plus babies, has tons of milk and is the most attentive of moms. She threw a harlequin/appaloosa, Rare Gem Heart Kandi when bred to harlequin appaloosa herd sire, Vintage Cashmere's U-Taupe-ia and a wildly-spotted and rare classic appaloosa/harlequin out of Apache Gentlemen...PBR Gentlemen's Fascination!! (Sold) Then again, in 2020, we paired her up with Apache Gentlemen, and she threw, yet again, another gorgeous harlequin/appaloosa, PBR Apache's Spark's Fly. That's 3 for 3 when bred for appaloosa/harlequin.
To say I was surprised when I observed PBR Divine Embraced by the Light's head emerge into life with a white beard and stripping on his ankle would be an understatement. He certainly lives up to his name! He is the handsome son of R Creek's Divine World (our choice for Kandi's 2025 breeding), offspring of Snowmass Divine Love and, boy, does Brace remind me of him. Furthermore, Brace has genetics from his sire's side with many well-known names such as Legacy, Augusto, Bueno, Hemingway and Caligula. Not only that, but he comes by his colorful pedigree from his dam's side of her family tree. Cacao Chanel of PBR's beautiful sire was harlequin/appaloosa producer Vintage Cashmere U-Taupe-ia. PBR Divine Embraced by the Light has it all....pedigree, color, fine and dense fleece! What a pleasure to see him expressing those appaloosa traits! As he grows, he impresses me with his macho-looking stance much like his grandsire, Snowmass Divine Love, and fine, crimpy dark fleece.
